  • During his junior year at Saint Joseph’s University, he had averaged 18.9 points and 6.7 assists per game, helping his team to an astonishing 27–0 win-loss record in the regular season and an ‘Elite Eight’ appearance in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) tournament. They had eventually finished the season with a 30-2 win-loss record. He had opted to forego his senior year of college basketball eligibility and had declared himself available for the 2004 NBA Draft where he was picked 24th overall in the first round by the Boston Celtics.
