All-female Brooklyn-based alternative rock trio New Myths have unleashed their latest single, “Living Doll”, which CelebMix are premiering.
The song is a quirky, uptempo alternative rock song that is inspired by women such as Melania Trump, the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and the reality television-driven women of America.
And the track portrays the idea of a materialistic woman, which can be notably pointed out in the song’s chorus:
“I am your living doll, won’t you take me to the mall, where we build a home inside a sparkly store, you express your love when you buy me all the shiny things.”
Seth Glassman helped to produce, engineer and master the track at a upstate New York recording studio.
New Myths, consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Brit Boras, drummer and vocalist Rosie Slater, and bassist and vocalist Marina Ross, have already achieved prominence in the New York music scene.
The band released their debut self-titled EP in 2012, with the lead single “False Gold” being used in several advertising campaigns for Gucci and Reef Surfwear.
In 2014, they released their debut album “Give Me Noise”, receiving praise from publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian and Pop Matters.
The band’s music is a mixture of alternative rock and post-punk, with synth-driven beats.
“Living Doll” is just a taster of what’s to come next from the girls, as they are currently gearing up for the release of their second studio album.
