Don Lemon took on President Donald Trump and his administration late Tuesday night for falsely claiming that the coronavirus could be entirely eradicated by next fall.
Scientists and health experts all over this planet have made it crystal clear that by the end of summer, the coronavirus will return and might be even stronger because it will also be flu season.
The CNN host did not hold back and ripped through Trump for pushing this idea and for “fooling” the American people into reopening the economy.
Lemon stated: “Yeah. Let me just say something before I move on with what I have planned here. I’ve seen so many people out and about lately not socially distancing, not wearing masks, not following the rules. This is not over. You may think it’s over because if you — if you actually pay attention to what’s happening in Washington with this administration, not having the briefings, trying to — pretending that this is over.”
He continued: “They want to move on to other things. So not having those briefings, that’s all part of the plan for you to think that this is over, that we have moved beyond this. People are still dying at alarming rates. Those quarantine orders that are given, they’re still in place. There are still orders in most places. So don’t get it twisted. Don’t sit there and think that this is over because you’ve just — you’ve been in the house for a long time. That’s not so.”
Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough also took a few shots at Trump after reports claimed that he had attacked his campaign manager, Brad Parscale.
Scarborough said Trump is facing “cognitive decline” and added: “Donald Trump, of course, is not going to blame himself because of how badly he is doing in these afternoon briefings. Because he stumbles over words, sometimes he seems to fall asleep in the middle of meetings.”
He went on to say: “People have been talking about his cognitive decline for some time and how it may impact us in a crisis. Now, of course, worries that a cognitive decline are starting to catch up with him. We’re starting to pay. But, my gosh, Americans are noticing, and the poll numbers are just collapsing.”
The commander in chief woke up, and even though many Americans are sick and 61,514 have died, he decided to jump on Twitter to fight with Lemon and Scarborough.
The former reality star wrote: “@CNN doesn’t want to speak about their persecution of General Michael Flynn & why they got the story so wrong. They, along with others, should pay a big price for what they have purposely done to this man & his family. They won’t even cover the big breaking news about this scam!”
He continued: “Just told that Fake News @CNN is falsely reporting that I was recently shouting at my campaign manager over made-up nonsense. Actually, he is doing a great job, I never shouted at him (been with me for years, including the 2016 win), & have no intention to do so. Just FAKE NEWS!”
Trump also claimed: “I must admit that Lyin’ Brian Williams is, while dumber than hell, quite a bit smarter than Fake News @CNN “anchorman” Don Lemon, the “dumbest man on television.” Then you have Psycho Joe, “What Ever Happened To Your Girlfriend?” Scarborough, another of the low I.Q. individuals!”
